Clinical roots
Dr. Georgia Galanou Luchen began her career in patient care, clinical education, and practice implementation, working across community and ambulatory care and teaching future pharmacists. That foundation continues to shape how she approaches strategy: understanding how a decision will work in practice, who it will affect, and what people need to put it into action.
National association leadership
At the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), she held progressively broader leadership roles across professional development, membership, strategy, and digital health. Her work included:
- Leading five-year strategic planning for an organization serving more than 65,000 members.
- Leading digital health work and developing the organization’s response to AI, including designing the inaugural AI in Pharmacy Summit.
- Building professional communities and educational programs, contributing to policy and stakeholder initiatives, and supporting executive and board-level decisions.
How she approaches the work
A new technology or strategic plan can open possibilities. Understanding what it means for an organization requires closer attention: to the problem being addressed, the people involved, and the realities of implementation.
She brings clinical, technical, operational, and leadership perspectives into that conversation. She helps teams examine their assumptions, make decisions, and organize the work that follows.
Today
Through Galanou Consulting, she supports healthcare product and program development, organizational planning, emerging priorities, grant strategy, executive communications, and stakeholder collaboration. Engagements range from focused advisory and defined projects to fractional leadership.
Based in Athens, she brings experience across U.S. and European contexts to her work.
